Montana Legislative Update

After an initial flurry, only two specifically biofuels-related bills survived the session...

· HB166 – Extends current biodiesel production, blending and storage tax credits, expands the credits to include biolubricants, and spreads the time the credit can be used from one year to seven years (data.opi.mt.gov/bills/2007/billpdf/HB0166.pdf).

· HB176 – Changes the term gasohol to ethanol blended gasoline for consistency in state laws, and broadens the range of ethanol/gasoline blends eligible for tax incentives (data.opi.mt.gov/bills/2007/billpdf/HB0176.pdf).
